Sylmia Shepherd, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Sylmia Shepherd is a graduate of Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tougaloo College before pursuing her lifelong dream of being a veterinarian.

A Mississippi girl at heart, Dr. Shepherd is thrilled to begin her career caring for horses throughout North Mississippi and the Mid-South. She has a special interest in teaching and education, internal medicine, lameness, and equine surgery.  She truly enjoys getting to know each client while providing thoughtful, compassionate care for every horse she meets.

When she’s not at the barn, Dr. Shepherd loves spending time with family and friends, studying scripture, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. She feels incredibly grateful to be part of the Full Circle Equine team and is committed to building lasting relationships with clients while delivering attentive, high-quality care. With every visit, she strives to ensure that both horse and owner feel supported, understood, and confident. For Dr. Shepherd, caring for horses means caring for the people who love them just as deeply.
